Comparative & Superlative

Usa la forma comparativa para comparar dos cosas, y la superlativa para comparar una cosa con todas las demás de un grupo. Los adjetivos cortos añaden -er/-est; los largos usan more/most. Formas irregulares: good/better/best y bad/worse/worst.

CUÁNDO USAR

Usa el comparativo (+ than) para comparar dos cosas o personas. Usa el superlativo (the + est / the most) para comparar una con todas las demás de un grupo.

ESTRUCTURA

formShort adj + -er + than / the + adj + -est

This bag is cheaper than that one. It's the cheapest in the store.

Esta bolsa es **más barata que** esa. Es **la más barata** de la tienda.

She is more talented than her sister. She is the most talented in the class.

REGLAS DE ORTOGRAFÍA (HE/SHE/IT)

Adjetivo corto (1 sílaba)añadir -er / -esttall → taller → tallest

ERRORES COMUNES

She is more tall than me.

She is taller than me.

Los adjetivos cortos (1 sílaba) usan -er, no "more"

This is the most good film.

This is the best film.

"Good" tiene un superlativo irregular: best (no most good)

Consejo

Regla aproximada: adjetivos de 1 sílaba → añade -er/-est. De 3+ sílabas → siempre more/most. De 2 sílabas → depende (mira el diccionario o memoriza los comunes como "happier", "more useful").
