There is / There are

कुछ मौजूद है यह कहने या एकवचन/अगणनीय संज्ञा का वर्णन करने के लिए "there is" का उपयोग करें। बहुवचन संज्ञाओं के लिए "there are" का उपयोग करें। प्रश्नों में कर्ता और क्रिया को उलट दें: "Is there...?"

कब उपयोग करें

किसी चीज़ के अस्तित्व का परिचय देने या घोषणा करने के लिए "there is/are" का उपयोग करें। यह किसी स्थान में क्या है यह वर्णन करने या यह बताने के लिए बहुत सामान्य है कि कुछ मौजूद है (या नहीं)।

सुझाव

क्रिया "is" या "are" "there" से नहीं, बल्कि उसके बाद आने वाले नाम से मेल खाती है। इसलिए ध्यान दें कि बाद में क्या आ रहा है: "There IS a dog" (एकवचन) बनाम "There ARE dogs" (बहुवचन)।
