Passive Voice (Simple)
La forma passiva è usata quando l'azione è più importante di chi la compie, o quando l'agente è sconosciuto o ovvio. Nella passiva, l'oggetto di una frase attiva diventa il soggetto. La struttura è: soggetto + am/is/are/was/were + participio passato (+ by + agente).
QUANDO USARE
Usa la voce passiva quando l'azione è più importante di chi la compie, quando l'agente è sconosciuto, ovvio o irrilevante, o nella scrittura formale/accademica per sembrare più obiettivo.
STRUTTURA
S + am/is/are/was/were + past participle (+ by agent)The report was written by the manager.
Il rapporto **è stato scritto** dal manager.
S + am/is/are/was/were + not + past participleThe letter wasn't signed by anyone.
La lettera **non è stata firmata** da nessuno.

ERRORI COMUNI
The car was crashed by a truck.
The car was hit by a truck.
Non è un errore grammaticale, ma 'crashed' è solitamente intransitivo in questo senso. Fai attenzione a quali verbi possono essere resi passivi.
The cake was baked by my mother baked it.
The cake was baked by my mother.
Non ripetere il soggetto/verbo nelle costruzioni passive.
Suggerimento
Per convertire attiva in passiva: l'oggetto diventa soggetto, il verbo diventa 'be + participio passato', e il soggetto originale (se mantenuto) viene dopo 'by'. Attiva: 'The chef cooked the meal.' → Passiva: 'The meal was cooked by the chef.'
