Third Conditional

Il terzo condizionale descrive situazioni ipotetiche nel passato — cose che non sono accadute, e immagina risultati diversi. Esprime rimpianto, critica o sollievo riguardo a eventi passati. La struttura è: If + trapassato prossimo, would have + participio passato.

QUANDO USARE

Usalo per parlare di situazioni passate che NON sono accadute, e immaginare quale SAREBBE STATO il risultato. Comune per esprimere rimpianto, critica di azioni passate, o immaginare risultati alternativi.

Nella frase con if, usa il trapassato prossimo (had + participio passato) — NON 'would have'.

She would have pass the exam if she had studied.

She would have passed the exam if she had studied.

Dopo 'would have', usa la forma del participio passato (passed, non pass).

Suggerimento

Terzo condizionale = rimpianto o immaginare il passato diversamente. Entrambe le parti sono al passato: If + HAD done (trapassato prossimo) → WOULD HAVE done (risultato passato). Niente può cambiare — tutto è ipotetico!
