冠词 (a/an/the)

Articles (a/an/the)

冠词是名词前的小词。以辅音开头的词前用 "a"，以元音开头的词前用 "an"。当说话人和听话人都知道所指的具体事物时，用 "the"。

何时使用

第一次提到某事物或它是众多之一时用 "a/an"。说话人和听话人都已知的特定事物用 "the"。不可数名词和泛指的复数名词前不用冠词。

"Honest" 以元音音开头（"h" 不发音），所以用 "an"

谈及 school/work/church 的功能时不用冠词

记住：冠词取决于读音，而不是拼写。"A university"（不是 "an"）因为以 "y" 音开头。"An hour"（不是 "a"）因为 "h" 不发音。
