Relative Clauses
As orações relativas fornecem mais informações sobre um substantivo. As orações relativas restritivas (sem vírgulas) identificam qual pessoa ou coisa queremos dizer. As orações relativas explicativas (com vírgulas) adicionam informações extras sobre algo já identificado. Use who/that para pessoas, which/that para coisas, e whose para posse.

ESTRUTURA
noun + who/which/that/whose + clause (no commas = defining)The woman who lives next door is a doctor.

ERROS COMUNS
The man which called you is my brother.
The man who called you is my brother.
Use 'who' (não 'which') para pessoas.
She is the woman who her husband is a pilot.
She is the woman whose husband is a pilot.
Use 'whose' para mostrar posse — não 'who her' ou 'who his'.
Dica
Guia rápido: who = pessoa, which = coisa, that = pessoa ou coisa (apenas em orações restritivas), whose = posse, where = lugar, when = tempo. 'That' não pode ser usado em orações não restritivas (com vírgulas).
