There is / There are

Use "there is" para dizer que algo existe ou para descrever um substantivo singular ou incontável. Use "there are" para substantivos plurais. Em perguntas, inverta o sujeito e o verbo: "Is there...?"

Dica

O verbo "is" ou "are" concorda com o substantivo que vem depois, não com "there". Então preste atenção ao que vem a seguir: "There IS a dog" (singular) vs "There ARE dogs" (plural).
